Steward Health Care Announces Industry Veteran Douglas Luckett as New Arizona Regional President
Luckett to Oversee Steward Health Care’s Arizona Family Hospitals

PHOENIX (June 18, 2018) – Steward Health Care has welcomed industry veteran Douglas Luckett to its executive leadership team as the new Arizona Regional President. Luckett will oversee operations and leadership at all of the organization’s Arizona health care facilities, including Mountain Vista Medical Center, St. Luke’s Behavioral Health Center, St. Luke’s Medical Center and Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital.

As the new Arizona Regional President, Luckett will be leading Steward’s Arizona health care facilities into the future, including evaluating future expansions throughout the region.

“Doug’s vision, combined with his knowledge of the health care industry, leadership skills and proven track record make him a valuable addition to our Arizona leadership team,” said John Polanowicz, Chief Operating Officer of Steward Health Care System.

Luckett is familiar with Steward’s commitment to delivering quality care and services for the local community in his previous role as the interim Chief Executive Officer at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Massachusetts. He served as the President and Chief Executive Officer for CaroMont Health in North Carolina, an independent health system located in an extremely competitive market. Doug also held the post of Chief Administrative Officer of Gulf Coast Medical Center and Cape Coral Hospital for the Lee Health System in the Fort Myers, Fla. In addition, he has also held executive positions in operations leadership for hospitals in Florida for Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), as well as executive operations leadership positions in South Carolina and Georgia with the former Health Management Associates (HMA).

Luckett began his career in health care as a radiologic technologist shortly after completing his service in the U.S. Army Infantry. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Memphis.

Steward Health Care merged with IASIS Healthcare, which was comprised of Mountain Vista Medical Center (Mesa), St. Luke’s Behavioral Health Center (Phoenix), St. Luke’s Medical Center (Phoenix), Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital (Tempe), Physician Group of Arizona and Health Choice, under its banner in September 2017.
